Mécanat Précision, a company of the Euclide Industrie Group, has just commissioned a Huron MX 12 M 5-axis milling centre. This versatile machine allows complex machining operations on parts intended for use in aerospace and energy applications. Huron differentiated itself from its competitors by proposing a special configuration of its milling centre. This move paid off, for Mécanat Précision made a sizeable investment in an industrial capital good that is expected to be in operation over the next 20 years!
MU TECH by Huron is an entry-level 3-axis milling machine that has the distinctive feature of being equipped as standard with an electrospindle. Versatile and multi-application, MU TECH can also operate in 3+2 axis mode. It offers high power at low speed for rough cutting of large parts since it can be used at service class S1 starting at 3000 rpm and at service class S6 for 40% of the time at 2200 rpm. Finishing operations can subsequently be performed in 5-axis mode at high speed. MU TECH 6, the first version available, features a dia. 600 mm table.
With the installation of new HURON high performance five-axis machining centres, TJ MOLDES (Marinha Grande, Portugal) has increased its production capacity for plastic injection moulds. The company is one of the leading manufacturers of moulds for the automotive industry.
HURON, the well-known machine tool manufacturer, has been present in Turkey for more than 25 years. Its worldwide leadership in the field of high speed machining and its commercial success in that country quite naturally led the company to open its own office in Istanbul to consolidate its local relations more closely. Huron will be present at the MAKTEK show in Istanbul, from 2 to 7 October 2012, Hall 5 / Stand 502 and Hall 3 / Stand 311A.
From 4 to 6 October 2012, the Spa-Francorchamps race track will be hosting the third edition of EuroSkills. This European competition open to all trades is part of an attempt to promote manual work and technical or technological sectors of employment.
The MX series of multifunctional milling centres are machines with a great deal of flexibility, allowing machining operations in 5 axes and on 5 sides, with just one part clamping from roughing to finishing and including turning operations. The MX series combines power, speed and accuracy: machining in 5 axes can be performed for workpieces weighing up to 4000 kg; hard materials are machined in a minimum time and extremely high precision is guaranteed for creating contours and profiles. These models are particularly appreciated in the aeronautical sector.
On Thursday 8 December, Huron Canada Inc. opened its new head office at 408, Isabey in St-Laurent. More than a hundred current and potential customers, representing the aeronautics industry, tool makers, high precision parts and general mechanics attended seminars and technical demonstrations presented throughout the day in Huron’s new training centre and showrooms.
The ten-year-old Canadian subsidiary of machine tool manufacturer Huron invites its customers and partners to an open day at its new Saint-Laurent premises in Quebec, on Thursday 8 December 2011.
As the table on this new generation “8 Five” is inclined in a 55° plane (instead of 45°), negative machining angles of up to -20° can be reached. Consequently, the angle of the spindle axis in relation to the table ranges from 0 to 110° compared with 90° for the previous generation.
