Mauritius Commercial Bank Ltd (MCB), one of the first and most important commercial banks in Mauritius and whose head office is based in the capital, Port Louis, is building a new highly futuristic and eco-friendly building in the high-tech Ebene Cyber City business park. For this new building, MCB has decided to invest in the latest energy-saving technology. Thus the systems incorporated into this complex, which is due to be delivered in 2011, will allow energy savings of a staggering 32% compared with a conventional building of the same size.

The “Volta” building, located in France not far from Paris, has the distinctive feature of consuming just 69 kW/sq. m/year, which is 50% less than conventional service sector buildings. By supplying the energy production system, the air handling units and the comfort units, CIAT is a key player in this performance. Piloted by the main contractor EIFFAGE IMMOBILIER, it is the first service sector operation to be given a BBC Effinergie label in the Paris region.

The Cristopia cold storage system, commissioned a few months ago, optimizes the hospital’s energy consumption and uses refrigerating units of a 2200 kW combined power instead of the 4000 kW initially planned. This CIAT equipment produces the cooling capacity needed for the entire building (Jean BERNARD), over 110 000 m2, with a 1000 bed capacity, including, amongst other units, 14 operating theatres, 20 imaging rooms and 29 intensive care beds. The installation will pay for itself in only 4 years.

The new generation of the DYNACIAT POWER chilled water production unit and water-to-water heat pump provides the optimal solution for all office, health, industry, administration and commerce cooling or heating applications. Its energy performance is remarkable in relation to a traditional chilled water unit, with an ESEER up to 6.17, which meets the strictest specifications for increased energy efficiency. Particularly compact, this equipment is designed to be installed inside a technical room, developing a power of up to 200 kW par m² on the ground.

Easy CIATControl is the latest-generation control system designed by CIAT. It provides control of all aspects of Hysys modular water circulation solutions: energy production, room units and air quality. Easy CIATControl’s touch-screen interface makes it very easy to optimize the management of heating, summer climate control and air quality systems by unit, by room or by zone, as needed. Particularly suitable for small and medium building areas (500 to 2500 sq. m), Easy CIATControl is the ideal control system for office buildings, hotels, and homes for the elderly.

The installation supplied by CIAT for the Meple (IKO Group) waterproofing systems production plant provides temperatures adjustable from 18 to 28 °C. This allows the plant to reduce discards, increase its productivity and gain in production flexibility.

The FLOWAY dual-flow air handling unit is a plug and play ventilation appliance designed to renew the air inside buildings by introducing outside fresh air, in accordance with the RT 2012 regulations. By optimizing the thermal cycle recovering heat from the extracted air and by using the new CIAT HEE (high energy efficiency) fans, FLOWAY reduces energy consumption by 40% compared with previous solutions. Its range of sizes and configurations makes it suitable both for new systems and for the renovation market.

A new range of comfort units, Major Line available from stock in more than 50 versions, providing cooling capacity from 700 W to 9 kW according to Eurovent ratings. Its resolutely modern styling is a perfect match for all types of interior and its energy consumption is on average 20% lower than that of previous-generation models.
