AMPHENOL
RJ-SWITCH MILAERO
For the Bourget 2009 Aeronautics and Space Show, Amphenol is proposing a new range of Ethernet switches, perfectly adapted to the specific requirements of the aeronautic and military sectors.
Developed by Amphenol – an expert in interconnection solutions for the most severe environments – the range of Ethernet RJ-SWITCH MILAERO combines the ruggedness and functional features of advanced networks.
The RJ-SWITCH MILAERO withstands electromagnetic disturbances according to aeronautic standards (MIL-STD-704 and others) for the 704 option. It incorporates excellent shock resistance, responding to standard MIL-STD-810F, i.e. 40G impacts for 11ms. With regard to vibrations, the RJ-SWITCH MILAERO complies with RTCA/DO-160C. Sealing is class IP68. This switch also complies with aeronautic standards for altitude (MIL-STD-810F) allowing operation at 50000 feet (15000m) and its operating temperature range is from -40°C to +70°C.
The input/output interfaces also guarantee total reliability, being RJF-TV connectors from the 38999 series III military standard. The approved and patented connection system, RJStop® enables simple and fast conversion of all standard RJ45 leads into a sealed connection, protected from impacts, dust and liquids.
There are several MILAERO RJ-SWITCH versions: painted black (RoHS) notably for aeronautic applications, olive green protection and finally, painted beige for desert camouflage. Customization is possible.
Even more reliable due to advanced administration devices
The RJ-SWITCH MILAERO has 9 Ethernet ports (up to 3 Gigabit ports). There are 3 versions: Plug & Play, RING non administrable, or administrable. All these versions are in Full Duplex with flow control (no collisions).
The RING versions include very fast redundant ring reconfiguration (<30ms), as well as QoS and Cos service quality.
The administrable versions also have IGMP Snooping, VLAN virtual network, mirror ports, RSTP ring reconfiguration and SNMPv3 encryption and authentication.
In all, Ethernet RJ-Switch MILAERO makes Ethernet networks deterministic where operating conditions would not generally permit this. It is adapted to applications such as on-board civil and military aeronautic Ethernet networks, battlefield communications, C4ISR, measurement apparatus, etc…
