NAME CHANGE CREATES WORLD LEADER IN REUSABLE TRANSIT PACKAGING

LINPAC Allibert and Schoeller Arca Systems (SAS) have joined together under one name to become the world leader in plastic reusable transit packaging (RTP). The two companies will be rebranded as Schoeller Allibert from January 2013, following the acquisition of LINPAC Allibert by controlling SAS stakeholder One Equity Partners (OEP) nine months ago.

Customers will now benefit from direct access to an even broader range of RTP from a single source. In addition to the widest range of reusable transit packaging solutions on the market, Schoeller Allibert will also be using its combined expertise to focus on its 360° full service offering to help customers through every stage of the packaging process – from initial logistics cost analysis, through to bespoke design and production, rental and pooling options and end of life recycling.

Erik De Bokx, CEO of Schoeller Allibert, comments: “LINPAC Allibert and Schoeller Arca Systems have been operating as sister companies since the acquisition by OEP in March 2012. As the two businesses complement each other so well, it made sense to rebrand them as one company, combining not only their strengths, expertise and innovative product ranges but also their names, to create a single world leading reusable transit packaging business. Our customers can now access a wider product portfolio and streamlined order processing facilities.

“In a world that depends on logistics and transport, all shipped in packaging materials, we need to reduce the environmental damage caused by packaging waste. The use of plastic returnable transit packaging is growing rapidly as a result and now Schoeller Allibert is best placed to help our customers in many different industries throughout the world, to find the right system for their business. As well as expanding our offering in existing markets, operating in one group with the support of our shareholders, OEP and Schoeller Industries (SI), will enable us to enter new sectors with modern and innovative products and systems.

“We aren’t just an RTP provider, with our 360° full service offer, Schoeller Allibert can take care of every step of the packaging process, helping our customers to reduce emissions, cut logistics and packaging costs and improve their supply chain.”

Schoeller Allibert is now the world’s largest manufacturer of reusable plastic packaging for materials handling. Headquartered in the Netherlands, it has more than 40 production and sales operations in nearly all European countries, the American continent and Asia. The product range includes foldable large and small containers, bulk containers, plastic pallets, stackable and nesting crates as well as dollies and lids. The range includes the iconic Maxinest tray, Maxipac bulk unit and the Magnum Optimum. In addition, Schoeller Allibert also offers tailor made systems for specific customers and industries.

Erik De Bokx adds: “Continuous innovation is at the heart of our business and Schoeller Allibert now has the largest research and development centre in the industry. Our customers will benefit from our pioneering research into making sure they are prepared for future challenges. In today’s competitive markets, advantages resulting from smart packaging designs will rapidly translate into improved performance and cost saving benefits in the supply chain. In fact many of the major innovations in plastic packaging systems were developed by Schoeller Allibert. ”
