Faiveley Transport wins a contract to supply pantographs for the future AGV ALSTOM trains of private Italian operator NTV
In a market open to competition, Faiveley has obtained a contract worth more than 2 million euros for the supply of CX piloted pantographs for traffic on the 25 kV AC and 3 kV DC Italian networks. The project entails supplying 25 trains, with 10 optional trains scheduled to begin commercial service in 2011.
Faiveley will equip them with the latest technology in piloted pantographs, through its patented CAPTO system, thereby bringing the necessary performance objectives within reach, especially for high-speed traffic on the Italian 3kV DC network.
Faiveley Transport's industrial network will be able to meet ALSTOM's specifications at the La Rochelle and Savigliano sites. It will also ensure good coverage for the 30-year train-maintenance contract obtained by ALSTOM for the project.
In an increasingly wide-open market, this contract is further proof of Faiveley Transport's commitment to providing innovative, competitive solutions and helping railway manufacturers meet the new demands of both traditional and private operators.
