2-D laser profiler LJ-G5000
Equipped with a unique E3 CMOS gloss compensation feature, this sensor offers a 300 times larger dynamic range of measurement than the market. It offers performances which up to now were impossible for compliance audits on complex surfaces such as rubber and metal surfaces, and those that mix the two materials. The performances are also unique: the range may be of 200 mm, repeatability of 1μm and sampling frequency of 3.8 ms.
LJ-G5000 is a 2-D laser profiler, capable of providing faster measurements on production lines. The material consists of a controller, a monitor and sensor heads. It is possible to connect two heads on a same controller and perform 8 simultaneous measures/controls on the reconstituted profile. The E3 CMOS image sensor offers a 300 times larger dynamic range than traditional sensors. LJ-G5000 allows stable profile measuring on weak reflection objects (rubber) as well as strong reflection objects (metal).
The Quatro link system allows conducting simultaneously different calculation processes (detection, profiling, measurement and display). This process, based on a new processor, enables a sampling speed of 3.8 ms and allows thus measurements on production lines. With many inspection functions, LJ-G5000 allows among other thing measuring differences in height, width, angles, intersections and a section area... The inspection window readjusts automatically if the target moves.
Not affected by the color and light conditions, this product provides a real advantage compared to the "line laser + vision" system.
LJ-G5000 provides reliable solutions over time for previously impossible applications: measuring a sealant bead, measuring a sealant, extrusion, welding operation, measuring object area (including rounded surfaces or with several reflection angles), checking the assembly accuracy of an auto body...
The E3 CMOS sensor provides an enhanced technology compared to traditional CMOS sensors. The LJ-G5000 uses the triangulation principle. It detects the height of a point depending on the position of the beam reflected on the matrix. The flat beam is created by a lens. The sensor head having no wearable part, the life cycle of the product is important.
If we look at the reflection on a cylindrical object, it is clear that the light refraction at the top of the object will be more important than on the edges. A traditional sensor (CCD or CMOS) is unable to find an acceptable compromise. Either the amount of light received at the top of the object is correct but the refraction on the edges will be insufficient. Either the amount of light received on the edges is correct, but the refraction to the top of the object is too important (saturation of the matrix). On a traditional CCD or CMOS sensor, the dynamic range (range of detection between a point considered as too dark and a point considered as too bright) is narrow.
With a traditional sensor, a typical solution consists in averaging the measurements to compensate the lack of stability. Less reliable, this technique also implies 15 times longer sampling times.
This E3 CMOS technology (for Enhanced Eye Emulation CMOS) reproduces the adjustment capacity of the human eye. Digital reconstruction of the profile will be total despite dark or too bright areas. The measurements options and stability are increased. The performance of E3 CMOS is enhanced by the MFL function which adjusts the sensitivity of the CMOS, the laser intensity and exposition time of the CMOS (the darker the target is the longer the imposition time is and vice versa). This MFL feature ensures measurement stability independently of the object type (plastic, rubber, metal) and regardless of the color.
A new optical technology with the ERNOSTAR 2D lens
Contrary to the competition who uses spherical lenses, ERNOSTAR 2D is a superposition of 4 high accuracy cylindrical lenses. It reduces spot distortion caused by aberrations. Perfect focusing results in a high accuracy image quality on the CCD and this in both dimensions. The user-friendly interface allows a simple and fast programming even for a non-experienced user.
Many interface options are possible: all or nothing contacts, RS232, USB and Ethernet.
