CIATCooler: CIAT’s new range of air/water water chillers for indoor installation

CIATCooler, the new range of air/water reversible water chillers for indoor installation, is available in ten models, covering net cooling capacities from 18 to 75 kW and net heating capacities from 22 to 85 kW. Available in standard or HEE (High Energy Efficiency) versions, the range is suitable for both new-build and renovation projects. CIATCooler is certified by Eurovent and incorporates the very latest technologies, placing it at the top of the energy class table with an EER of up to 2.8 in class A. In heating mode operation, 80% of the models are class A.

The design of the CIATCooler is identical for all models, thereby facilitating installation. It is available in four versions to cover the needs of the various application sectors (offices, hospitals, hotels, retail and administration): the LP series provides cooling only; the LPC series combines cooling and a hydraulic module, with or without buffer tank; the ILP series is reversible; and the ILPC version is reversible and has a hydraulic module with or without buffer tank. For particular requirements, two CIATCoolers can be installed in parallel, providing a capacity of up to 170 kW operating in Master/Slave mode.

In addition to reducing running costs, particular attention has been paid to optimising the energy efficiency of CIATCooler. The refrigerating system uses the environmentally-friendly R410A refrigerant, which ensures high performance. A new brazed-plate heat exchanger means that less refrigerant is needed, and latest-generation scroll compressors have been fitted. Energy efficiency has also been improved thanks to the use of centrifugal fans, enabling available pressure values of 7 to 35 mmWC over the whole range, regardless of the direction of the air flow, and an IE2 high-efficiency electric motor conforming to standard IEC 60034-30.
The result is an increase in performance of 13% to 19% compared to previous ranges.

The HEE version, which is fitted with a plug fan driven by a variable-speed motor, offers even higher performance attaining energy class A for all models.

The Connect2 control system
Available for the whole CIATCooler range, the Connect2 control system is multilingual, ergonomic and communicating and has many auto-adaptive functions.

The smaller models in the range are fitted as standard with the µchiller2 control unit and the µC² display.

Easy installation and maintenance
Installation costs are far from negligible in the overall investment for equipment. CIATCooler is designed for easy installation: the inlet/outlet connections are positioned on the top of the unit, allowing installation according to floor constraints, and the intake and exhaust ducting can be configured either at the back or vertically. The available pressure from 7 to 35 mmWC enables the selection of motor-pulleys-belts to be optimised. Lastly, with a width of 860 mm, the CIATCooler range can be easily manoeuvred through doorways, making it particularly well-suited to renovation installations.
