HEE Version of POWERCIAT2

CIAT's eco-designed POWERCIAT2 water chiller, for cooling capacities ranging from 610 to 1350 kW, is now available in a High Energy Efficiency (HEE) version. Thanks to its latest-generation components, and in particular the integration of a micro-channel coil and CIAT's new high efficiency evaporator, POWERCIAT2 HEE is on average 10% more energy efficient than the standard model. It achieves the highest possible energy rating, Class A, with an average EER of 3.15 and exceptional seasonal efficiency levels, proven by an average ESEER of 4.1. Versatile, POWERCIAT2 HEE is specially designed for the air conditioning of large buildings such as hotels, offices, shopping centres and industrial facilities.

CIAT provides nearly 6000 heating, cooling and air handling units for the 22nd Sochi 2014 Olympic Winter Games

The scope of CIAT’s system offer range, from chillers through to comfort units, made the difference when it came to equipping over 20 establishments of the Sochi Olympic Games. Whether this be hotels, some 15 for example on the Gornaya Karusel site, or the Olympic University accredited with the BREEAM energy performance certification, or the new hospital in Krasnaya Polyana, CIAT demonstrated its ability to adapt to the specific demands of each project and meet particularly tight delivery and commissioning deadlines

The new F-Gas Directive: What are the immediate solutions?

Both the revision to the EU's F-Gas Directive currently under preparation and national refrigerant taxation schemes are prompting manufacturers to turn to water-source solutions in which the refrigerants used are confined to equipment. CIAT adopted a water-source strategy many years ago whereas competing alternatives – like direct-expansion solutions – will quickly have to be abandonned. The environmental consequences of climate change have prompted European authorities to seriously reinforce the EU's F-Gas Regulation. The current version of the regulation, which was enacted in 2006, sets obligations on calculating the weights of both marketed and recovered refrigerants as well as the frequency of checks. It also sets timetables for the phasing-out of non-zero ODP (Ozone Depletion Potential) refrigerants that are destructive to the ozone layer. The revision of the F-Gas Regulation currently under preparation will come into force in 2015. Its aim is to drastically reduce the global warming potential (GWP) of refrigerants currently in use. As from 2015, the sale of refrigerants will be gradually restricted based on their GWP (expressed in kg of CO2-equivalent per kg of refrigerant). The goal is to cut usage by nearly 80% over a 15-year period.

CIAT Equips Bulgaria's Burgas and Varna Airports

CIAT has installed more than 40 rooftop units to ensure the air quality in the new terminals of Burgas and Varna airports, which were inaugurated last summer. Delivered in just two months' time, CIAT's Space PF rooftop units reduce energy consumption and feature high-efficiency filtration systems.

Smart CIATControl

Specifically designed for buildings ranging from 500 m2 to 5,000 m2, Smart CIATControl optimises the operation of the Hysys water-source system in real time according to the heating or cooling needs of each installed comfort unit. It allows the management of three independent water loops and networks together all the components in the Hysys system via a touch screen. It feeds back information for remote reporting, runs time schedules and features optimisation functions to increase the system's energy efficiency by more than 40%. The home page provides an overview of the building's energy usage. CIAT exhibited the Smart CIATControl at the Interclima trade show, which held from 4 to 8 November in Paris.

AQUACIAT 2 HYBRID

Aquaciat 2 HYBRID is the first range of packaged, outdoor, reversible hybrid heat pumps that house an integrated natural-gas-powered condensation boiler module. This new range combines the benefits of both technologies in a single package that is compact and particularly easy to install. With a total of eight possible combinations available and three 45 to 80 kW boilers, Aquaciat 2 HYBRID meets the heating and air-conditioning needs of new and existing tertiary-sector buildings ranging from 500 m2 to 1500 m2. Engineered using eco-design principles, the entire range is at least 85% recyclable. Aquaciat 2 HYBRID won the Silver Trophy in the HVAC category at the Innovation Awards held during the Interclima trade show in Paris from 4th to 8th November.

CIATM2M – The Remote Supervision Solution for CIAT Machines

With CIATM2M, CIAT Service offers customers and operators a solution for supervising their heat pumps, chillers, air handling units with control, rooftop units and other machines. The benefit? Higher equipment uptime and energy efficiency and lower maintenance costs.

POWERCIAT2 – CIAT's new 610-1350 kW eco-designed water chiller

POWERCIAT2 is available in two versions – a standard (STD) version designed for the most demanding technical and economical requirements, and a High Energy Efficiency (HEE) version, which is the reference for energy efficient projects. Thanks to its state-of-the-art components, the HEE version of POWERCIAT2 achieves the highest possible energy rating, CLASS A, with an average EER of 3.18 and exceptional levels of seasonal efficiency, proven by an average ESEER of 4.1. In addition to its low energy consumption, POWERCIAT2 offers a power/refrigerant charge ratio of 7 kW of refrigerant/kg R134a – the highest on the market. POWERCIAT2 is currently the only water chiller that combines both micro-channel coil and shell-and-tube dry expansion evaporator technologies. It has been engineered using eco-design principles to minimise its environmental impact throughout its entire life cycle.

Power'Control: Control and Supervision of High-Performance Thermal Energy Pools

Power'Control is the name of CIAT's specialised control and supervision tool for your entire energy production system. It is part of CIAT's unique hot and cold thermal Energy pool package and guarantees high levels of performance in all situations. Power'Control takes into account the needs specifically defined for each application and defines, in real time, the right production strategies, the best assignment of tasks and the correct allocation of equipment. It autonomously controls systems of chillers or heat pumps, dry coolers, pumps and other ancillary hydraulic equipment and ensures the most efficient modes of production. Depending on the system combination and the type of application, it improves efficiency by 15 to 30%. Power'Control is designed for applications in tertiary environments, shopping centres, hospitals, hotels and industrial refrigeration systems.
